Here are some programs and resources I use and highly recommend.
- Dropbox. A great replacement for a Flash drive. Install it to your computer and then your Dropbox is available as a file folder, into which you can drag and drop files. You can later go to dropbox.com and access your files there, or install the app on your smartphone and get your files there, and it goes on and on. I use Dropbox for accessing Powerpoint slides that I use in classes.
- Spideroak. After a recent security issue with Dropbox, I’m looking into alternatives. I don’t have a conclusion yet on Spideroak, but I’m trying it out.
- Five Easy Lessons: Strategies for Successful Physics Teaching
. A fantastic, easy-to-read book on the strategies Knight uses in his College Physics and Physics for Scientists and Engineers textbooks.
Coffee-related
- Blue Bottle Coffee. We’ve been buying our beans from this shop and they’re wonderful.
- Crema. If you’re in Nashville, you must stop here and drink a cuban coffee for me. It’s my most favorite coffee shop in the world.
